The Queen's Film Theatre is a small independent cinema that has been open since 1968. For the past almost fifty years, QFT has occupied a unique place in the cultural life of Northern Ireland. This uniqueness comes from QFT's special ambience (a world away from the local cineplex!), its screenings of new and classic films, and its loyal audiences.
QFT has only 2 screens and its small size gives it a unique intimacy loved by its audiences. However it also prevents us from covering our costs through ticket sales alone, and without additional support, we could simply not open our doors.
We have recently replaced our seats, which were tired and worn from years of use from keen film goers, with a suite of beautiful new seats which we hope will be enjoyed for years to come. We are offering you the opportunity to adopt one of these new seats and support QFT in continuing to bring the very best in new and classic films from all over the world to Northern Ireland.

There is simply no better way to demonstrate your commitment to the films and the cinema we hope you've grown to love since 1968 and will continue to enjoy for the next 50 years!
The cost of adopting a QFT seat for five years is £150 per individual or £300 per company or organisation.

"I had the great good fortune to be asked to the Green Screen Film Festival with my film 'Me and Me Dad'. The welcome I received was wonderful. I love the QFT as it has an incredible atmosphere and great programming. When we watch unique films in the right setting our lives are inspired, we escape from our troubles and enter into dream state. We are transported by the vision and emotion in film's and are transformed by their stories. So, come on put your name and your bum on a seat!"
Katrine Boorman, filmmaker, actor (and daughter of director John Boorman)

"QFT .. Intimate, comfortable, plucky, offering the most interesting and diverse film programme in the city...by far the most civilised place to see to see films in Belfast"
Ian McElhinney, Irish actor
“In Belfast on a night off the first thing I always do is check what's on at QFT. There's not much I like better than going to the cinema and QFTs one of my fave spots anywhere. The programmes always great and where else can you sift an array of digitally archived 8mm home movies and newsreel footage?”
Aiden Gillen, Irish actor
"Small cinemas likes this one are central to the cultural well-being of a city. QFT has shown good films in Belfast for almost 50 years and with the help of its patrons it can carry on doing so for another 50. I encourage audiences to become involved with the Take Your Seat campaign and help keep good cinema alive in your city"
Stephen Frears, British director
