This fantastical story follows Sôsuke, a five-year old boy who discovers a magical goldfish princess called Ponyo.

The two form an inseparable bond, but Ponyo’s family from beneath the sea oppose the friendship and the children must stick together to battle the ocean’s magic and save their world.

Master animator, Hayao Miyazaki strikes gold again with this beautifully realised tale of courage and love, loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid. With the voice talent of Cate Blanchett, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey and Matt Damon.

Screening as part of Q-Con XXVI: three days of gaming and anime at Queen’s University Belfast, 30 Aug – 1 Sept 2019.
