One of America’s greatest comic legends, Elaine May (Tootsie, The Birdcage), directs, writes and stars in her debut feature as Henrietta, a clumsy but extremely wealthy botanist whose single-minded devotion to her work leaves her clueless about the world around her.
Henrietta’s life is turned on its head when she meets Henry (Walter Matthau), a once-rich playboy who has obliviously spent his entire inheritance and is looking to regain his fortune and social stature through seduction and murder.
