Jodie Foster’s impeccable French and comedic skills are on full display in this mystery thriller, which sees her character journey down a rabbit hole to investigate a suspicious death.
After learning about the suicide of a patient (Virginie Efira), psychoanalyst Lilian Steiner (Foster) suspects foul play and decides to uncover the truth. Enlisting the help of her ex-husband-cum-sleuthing partner (Daniel Auteuil), her investigation leads her to unexpected conclusions.
Drawing on Alfred Hitchcock and Brian De Palma at their most playful, this wildly enjoyable mystery-caper is as full of charm as its magnetic protagonist.
