Academy Award winner Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle-Reid star as two women who reacquaint a Beverly Hills millionaire with his long-lost zest for life in this rollicking comedy.
Black American Princesses (B.A.P.S) Nisi (Berry) and Mickey (Desselle-Reid) are two women with two ambitions: to marry rich men who will give them lots of money and to open the world's first combination hair salon and soul food restaurant. But eligible bachelors and business opportunities are in short supply in Georgia, so the pair hit the road for California. There they meet elderly millionaire Mr. Blakemore (Martin Landau) and despite their vast cultural differences the three form a close bond.
The Naughton Gallery and UsFolk illustration agency present B.A.P.S as the next instalment in their popular SCREEN/PRINT series, through which illustrators are commissioned to create new posters for films which have inspired or influenced their practices. Daniel Batista is an illustrator and artist currently based in Guarapuava, a small town in the south of Brazil. Football, music, popular culture, and Blackness are some of the themes most prominent in his practice, which is notable for its vibrant colours and strong characters.
All ticket holders will receive a limited edition print by Daniel Batista.
This October, for Black History Month, QFT celebrates Black filmmakers, storytellers and creatives who have enriched cinema.
