Showing: 12 December 2025
Baby Pictures is our monthly morning film slot exclusively for carers with little ones aged twelve months and under. This month's screening is Jafar Panahi’s (No Bears) Palme d’Or winner, It Was Just an Accident.
Vahid (Vahid Mobasseri), an unassuming mechanic, is suddenly reminded of his time in an Iranian prison when he has a chance encounter with Eghbal (Ebrahim Azizi), a man he strongly suspects to be his sadistic jailhouse captor. Panicked, Vahid rounds up a few of his fellow ex-prisoners to try and confirm Eghbal's identity.
Panahi continues in highlighting and campaigning against the tyranny that occurs in broad daylight. This emotionally explicit work blends drama and satire to the brilliant cumulative effect of inviting scrutiny and condemnation of abuses of power.
Baby Pictures is open to carers and little ones of twelve months and under. As everyone in the cinema is a parent or carer, there’s no need to worry if it gets a little noisy. Everyone understands. Customers not accompanying a baby will be turned away. Tickets are £10 and include a hot drink and a delicious pastry. You can let us know if you have any dietary requirements on qftmanager@qub.ac.uk.
The lights are turned up a little bit and the sound is a little softer to create a peaceful environment for you and the baby. It’s just for carers (Mum, Dad, Granny, Granda, whoever it is it looking after the tot) and babies. Up to two adults can come with a baby. Please note: we cannot allow babies over the age of 12 months to come to Baby Pictures.
