From the slums of Kampala to the national political arena, this gripping film charts the rise of Robert Kyagulanyi, better known as Bobi Wine - the pop star-turned-politician seeking to end Uganda’s brutal dictatorship.

President Yoweri Museveni came to power in 1986, and changed Uganda's constitution to enable his brutal regime to rule for over 35 years. One of the country’s most beloved superstars, Bobi uses his music to call out corruption, then becomes an Independent Member of Parliament, defending the rights of his people and giving them a voice.

Still determined to denounce the regime and bring democracy to his country, Bobi, alongside his wife Barbie, decides to run against Museveni in the country's 2021 presidential elections.

Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp's stirring film follows Bobi and Barbie closely, as they risk everything to fight the election, in the face of a state prepared to use violence to intimidate and silence opposition.

★★★★ "electric insight into Ugandan power struggle... it is eye-opening and at times genuinely terrifying." The Guardian
