The stylish and sensual directorial debut of the Wachowskis (The Matrix), Bound is a neo-noir thriller that puts a deliciously sapphic spin on the traditional crackerjack caper premise.
Corky (Gina Gershon) is a young woman recently released from a five-year jail term for, as she puts it, the 'redistribution of wealth'. After a brief lift encounter with her sexy and sultry neighbour Violet (Jennifer Tilly) the pair strike up a steamy love affair under the nose of Violet's unhinged Mafia boyfriend Caesar (Joe Pantoliano). Soon the two women are hatching a high-stakes plot to steal $2 million from Caesar and his associates. What could go wrong?
With crackling dialogue, luscious cinematography, and live-wire performances from Gershon, Tilly, and Pantoliano, Bound is a genre-reimagining joyride that keeps both the tension and the heat rising in a thrilling display of queer eroticism.
"[An] immaculately crafted queer thriller... invests its genre tropes with unabashed romantic sincerity." - James Robert Douglas, The Guardian
