A Hallowe'en treat (or trick?) chosen by our LUMI programmers, Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic novel offers a full-blooded portrait of the immortal Transylvanian vampire that you'll travel across oceans of time to see.

Count Dracula (Gary Oldman), a 15th-century prince, is condemned to live off the blood of the living for eternity. Young lawyer Jonathan Harker (Keanu Reeves) is sent to Dracula's castle to finalise a land deal, but when the Count sees a photo of Harker's fiancée, Mina (Winona Ryder), the spitting image of his dead wife, he imprisons him and sets off for London to track her down. But, as the Count’s influence spreads, the relentless vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing (Anthony Hopkins) is determined to put an end to the growing madness.

With its Gothic grandeur and atmospheric intensity, Coppola’s film unfolds as a sensuous epic, delving into themes of love, lust, and the eternal conflict between light and darkness.

"Glorious and groundbreaking fantasy cinema...loving, swaggering, soulful, sexy and hip." - Kevin Maher, Times (UK)
