Estranged siblings are forced to reunite after a family tragedy strikes in Arnaud Desplechin's moving drama. Starring Marion Cotillard and Melvil Poupaud.
For decades, siblings Louis (Poupaud) and Alice (Cotillard) haven’t spoken to one another. They share a burning resentment and refuse to even acknowledge each other’s existence – the reason for this hatred isn’t exactly clear. However, when their parents are hospitalised after a tragic car accident, the siblings find themselves wrestling with the burden they’ve been carrying for so long.
Reminiscent of Bergman, and of Desplechin’s own A Christmas Tale and Kings and Queen, his new vibrant emotional drama is a tale of hate, rivalry, and reconciliation.
"It’s Cotillard canon, and one for the director’s top tier, without doubt." Little White Lies
