The Naughton Gallery, in association with UsFolk illustration agency, presents a free screening of Amy Heckerling’s ‘90s classic, Clueless.
Clueless reworks Jane Austen’s Emma in Beverley Hills. Head-to-toe plaid, over the knee socks, nose-piercings, furry backpacks and dressing-up montages galore made this sharp, funny and very enjoyable film iconic upon its release in 1995. An ode to female friendship, counter culture and teenage lexicon: this is a film about women, by women, for everyone. To thine own self be true. Whatever!
SCREEN/PRINT sees a range of illustrators create new posters for films which have inspired or influenced their work. Clueless has been selected by Stephen Maurice Graham, who will give a short intro to the film, with free limited edition prints available at the screening.
SCREEN/PRINT is generously supported by the Queen’s Annual Fund.
