Join us for a festive Dementia Friendly screening of Ernst Lubitsch’s romantic comedy, The Shop Around the Corner.
James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan play Alfred and Klara, fellow workers in a gossip-ridden emporium who are unaware they’re in fact courting one another by mail in an anonymous correspondence. At work the two are constantly at odds with each other and disagree on almost everything. Little do they know they are unwittingly falling in love through their letters.
Dementia Friendly screenings aim to make cinema more accessible by providing a fun and inclusive experience for people living with dementia, their families and carers. The film will be shown with the lights up and the sound turned down. There will be more staff in-venue to assist and the screen will open earlier.
Presented in partnership with Forward South. Forward South Partnership is an independent charity that works with community, schools, business, public and private sector partners to help regenerate and sustain a healthy and prosperous South Belfast. FSP coordinate South Belfast Dementia Friendly that is a voluntary campaign to improve life for people affected by dementia in this community.
