Presenting just some of the complex layers of life in modern Congo, Trop c’est trop / Enough is Enough bears witness to the incredible vitality of the Congolese people trapped in the tragedy of an endless war.
The Kivu War is a series of armed conflicts that have been ongoing for decades in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In January 2025, Goma capital of North Kivu in the DRC falls to the rebels. It takes only four days for the M23 group to defeat the Congolese army supported by soldiers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa and Burundi fighting alongside mercenaries and militias under the watchful eye of the UN’s largest base in the region, MONUSCO.
One of the aims of Docs Ireland is to present images and human stories that are not accessible or available to us in Belfast. The images and ideas presented in this film are breathtaking and vivid and unique - presenting just some of the complex layers of life in modern Congo.
