Polyamory becomes the risky solution when an affair is revealed, and four adults test the limits of love in an exceptionally well-told and groundbreaking relationship drama from Finnish filmmaker Selma Vilhunen.

Juulia (Alma Pöysti, Fallen Leaves) is a successful Member of the Parliament with a seemingly perfect marriage with her priest husband Matias (Eero Milonoff). But when Juulia finds out Matias has had a year-long affair with Enni (Oona Airola), she collapses. To save her relationship, Juulia proposes a polyamorous marriage without secrets and invites Enni to be a part of their lives. Soon, Juulia herself falls in love with queer cabaret singer Miska (Pietu Wikström) and the quartet form a loving yet complicated extended family.

A relationship drama in a new form, Vilhunen’s multi-faceted story explores modern romance in a mature way, avoiding sensationalism in order to authentically understand the desires of a series of chaotic, complex characters. Disarmingly optimistic and tautly scripted, festival favourite Vilhunen breaks the stereotypes in order to show that the course of true love never did run smooth.
