The Dark Hedges Film Festival presents Tom Holland’s Fright Night as part of their 2022 programme and In Dreams Are Monsters season.
17-year-old Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) is a fan of both traditional horror films and horror TV series, Fright Night, hosted by former movie vampire hunter Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall).
One evening, Charley discovers that his new neighbour Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon) is a vampire who’s responsible for the disappearance of several locals. When no one believes him, Charley decides to get the help of washed-up television vampire killer Peter Vincent, to stop Jerry's killing spree.
A member of the festival’s team will introduce the screening of this cult classic, just in time for Halloween.
Dark Hedges began as a short film festival for Irish filmmakers in 2018, but in 2020 the decision was made to evolve the programme into a fully-fledged festival with an international outlook. Whilst still committed to our short film programme, The Dark Hedges Film Festival aims to screen an eclectic mix of genre movies (old and new) to audiences here in Belfast.
Screening as part of In Dreams Are Monsters: A Season of Horror Films, a UK-wide film season supported by the National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network. indreamsaremonsters.co.uk
