A queer Macedonian woman goes to drastic measures to hold her makeshift family together following a tragedy, in idiosyncratic director Goran Stolevski’s new film.
Despite lacking maternal instincts, Dita is head of a found family and helping to create a ramshackle safe space. But sexuality and caste are thorny issues in Macedonia, so she must fight to keep them together.
Reuniting Stolevski with You Will Not Be Alone star Anamaria Marinca, this drama reminds us that navigating life while queer is still a complex issue around the world.
