Film critic, broadcaster and journalist Mark Kermode returns to Cinemagic for his annual Film Night to introduce and discuss Queen of Katwe, his 2021 festival pick!

Mark will be sharing his thoughts on the year’s new film releases and talking about the important role film festivals play in promoting independent and cultural cinema, all before answering questions from the audience.

Queen of Katwe follows a Ugandan girl whose life changes forever when she discovers she has an amazing talent for chess in this celebration of the human spirit. A movie based on a vibrant true story starring Lupita Nyongo and David Oyelowo.

Film night host (as always) the brilliant Brian Henry Martin.
