A special screening as part of Be More Connected - a day of action on loneliness in Belfast.
Award-winning documentary Older Than Ireland tells the story of a hundred years of a life as seen through the eyes of thirty Irish centenarians. From the oldest Irish person ever on record, 113-year-old Kathleen Snavely, to Ireland’s oldest man, 108-year-old Luke Dolan, we meet a colourful cast of characters from the four corners of Ireland. These centenarians are our living history and these are their extraordinary stories.
The screening will be followed by a discussion facilitated by Fiona Murphy (Campaign to End Loneliness) and featuring Seamus Donnelly (Age NI), David Florida James (Age NI’s Older Persons Consultative Forum Representative) and Valerie Adams (Age Sector Platform).
This event is supported by Campaign to End Loneliness (www.bemoreus.org.uk), Age-friendly Belfast, Age NI, Belfast City Council, Red Cross, Clare, Volunteer Now and other agencies, organisations and groups across Belfast.
