The story of a hundred years of a life in Ireland as seen through the eyes of thirty different men and women aged one hundred years or over. Available to watch for free on QFT Player as part of Film Feels Hopeful.
Award-winning documentary Older Than Ireland tells the story of a hundred years of a life as seen through the eyes of thirty Irish centenarians. From the oldest Irish person ever on record, 113-year-old Kathleen Snavely, to Ireland’s oldest man, 108-year-old Luke Dolan, we meet a colourful cast of characters from the four corners of Ireland. These centenarians are our living history and these are their extraordinary stories.
This year’s UK wide Film Feels season is all about feeling Hopeful, with a series of events that look at films imbued with hope, dreams of the future, and new ways of reimagining film itself, with a particular emphasis on creating space for voices that don't get heard in mainstream programming. Film Feels is managed by Film Hub Midlands on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network, powered by National Lottery funding.
