Set along the weathered coastline of North Wales, Jack works as a hand raker on the mussel beds alongside his younger brother and nephews. Film starts 6pm.
Married to his supportive wife Maggie but concerned that his son is hinting at not joining the family business, Jack’s quiet, unremarkable life is disrupted when casual labourer, Daniel, arrives in the village. As the two men get to know each other, tensions build between family responsibility, prejudiced attitudes and the strong desire to live an authentic life.
With stunning central performances from Barry Ward and Lorne MacFadyen, this is a sensual and tonally astute second feature from British novelist, screenwriter and director, Helen Walsh.
Actor Barry Ward (That They May Face The Rising Sun), will attend the event and take part in a post-screening Q&A.
