An exploration of a land in the south of England between two years and two seasons.

Black Pond (42 min, 2018)

Black Pond is an odyssey across a common land in the south of England told through the hands of the members of the Natural History Society who currently occupy it.

This public screening will be introduced by Dr Michael Holly, lecturer in film practice, QUB, and will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Jessica Sarah Rinland.

The Planetary Screens conference on September 4th and 5th, 2025 at Queen's University, Belfast is an academic gathering to include scholarly papers, creative practice-based research presentations and screenings that reflect the centrality of the planetary in film and screen media, with consideration for the context of the environmental emergency.
