Argentinian director Rodrigo Moreno’s ticklish saga follows the surreal intertwined journeys of two bank clerks, Morán (Daniel Elías) and Román (Esteban Bigliardi), who collude in stealing back their lives from the bank where they work.
After calculating the total amount they would earn from their salaries until retirement, Morán (Elías) steals this exact sum from their bank branch, entrusts the money to Román (Bigliardi), and then turns himself in. Little do they know just how far the consequences of this crime will take them.
Recalling Mariano Llinás’ La Flor in its reflexive storytelling and narrative riffing, The Delinquents is an invigorating genre deconstruction and increasingly deadpan-hilarious story of doubling, destiny and dumb luck.
