As part of 'A Queer Séance' Ghouls on Film - Belfast's feminist horror society - host an event screening of Robert Wise's eerie and unsettling 1963 ghost story, featuring a spooky drag show that will leave you screaming.

Dr. John Markway, an anthropologist with an interest in psychic phenomena, takes two specially selected women to Hill House, a reportedly haunted mansion. Eleanor (Julie Harris), a lonely, eccentric woman with a supernatural event in her past, and the bold Theodora (Claire Bloom), who has ESP, join John and the mansion's heir, cynical Luke (Russ Tamblyn). They are immediately overwhelmed by strange sounds and events, and Eleanor comes to believe the house is alive and speaking directly to her.

Join Ghouls on Film and the ghosts of legendary drag performers King Phisher, That Count Bella Lublowsi and Doctor Count Evil as they haunt the halls of QFT in a special spectral performance not to be missed.

'A Queer Séance' is inspired by the concept of ‘The Apparitional Lesbian’; the idea that throughout history, queerness has been hidden in plain sight – overlooked due to fear and in turn, has become ghostly.

Screening as part of In Dreams Are Monsters: A Season of Horror Films, a UK-wide film season supported by the National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network. indreamsaremonsters.co.uk
