European Association of Archaeologists Festival of Archaeology: This annual meeting is taking place at Queen’s University, Belfast from 30 August to 2 September 2023 and is a once-in-a-lifetime event that will see over 3000 archaeologists from across the world visit Belfast.

A cornerstone of Hammer's gothic horror series, The Mummy reunites legends Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in a reinvention of the post-war horror film.

John Banning (Cushing) and his archaeologist family arrive in Egypt, determined, against warnings, to steal the 4,000 year old sarcophagus of Princess Ananka. While the mission is a success on the surface, the reading aloud of the Scroll of Life inadvertently leads to the resurrection of mummy Kharis (Lee), a high priest from 40 centuries before, whose sole purpose is to destroy those responsible for the desecration of the sacred tomb. Smuggled to England by a devotee, Kharis discovers that Banning's wife Isobel (Yvonne Furneaux) resembles the Princess. Abducting her, the speechless and tormented monster sets out to wreak a terrible revenge.

This screening will be introduced by Professor Eileen Murphy from the School of Natural and Built Environment, QUB.

This screening coincides with the European Association of Archaeologists 2023 conference, which will see its 29th annual meeting held in Belfast from 30 August to 2 September.
