Join us for a magical double bill of festive Raymond Briggs classics, The Snowman and Father Christmas. Screening as part of the Holyland Winter Festival presented by the Forward South Partnership.

The Snowman (1982)

On Christmas Eve, a young boy builds a snowman that comes to life and takes him to the North Pole to meet Father Christmas. The gentle non-dialogue narrative offers an accessible portrayal of friendship, discovery and loss, encapsulated in the haunting song Walking in the Air.

Father Christmas (1991)

Santa goes on holiday! Adapting his trusty sleigh – and leaving his reindeers at home – Father Christmas takes in France, Scotland and Las Vegas, before returning home to deal with a lot of post as he gears up for his busiest night of the year.

The Holyland Winter Festival presents a wide range of community-led activities, ensuring there’s something for everyone, no matter the age, language abilities or traditional practices.
