The Stimming Pool is an experimental – at times fantastical – hybrid feature film, co-created by a collective of autistic artists, The Neurocultures Collective and filmmaker Steven Eastwood, who invite you into a neurodiverse world within the undulating logic of neurotypical environments.
It is rare for neurodiverse people to be authors of their own story. In The Stimming Pool, we see five neurodiverse artists create a singular visual project that offers a fascinating glimpse into their singular perspective on the human experience.
A triumph in artful filmmaking, this unique and extraordinary work is a visceral experience not to be missed.
The 10.45am screening on Sat 29 Mar will be a relaxed screening. Relaxed screenings are aimed at audiences with autism or other sensory sensitivities, but are open to everyone. This means the house lights will be up a little and the sound levels will be lowered. The screening will be sold at half capacity and the seats will be unallocated to allow customers freedom of movement during the film if needed. The screening will start 5 minutes after the advertised screening time. There will be no ads or trailers. For more access information about QFT, including a walk through video, click here.
