Widely regarded as one of the best British horror films, The Wicker Man returns to QFT this Summer Solstice as part of SCREEN/PRINT. Attendees will receive a free The Wicker Man poster by artist Viktoria Mladenovski.

Directed by Robin Hardy and starring Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee, Britt Ekland, and Diane Cilento, this true cult classic tells the chilling story of a puritan Police Sergeant (Woodward) who arrives on a remote Scottish island in search of a missing girl only to find the Pagan locals claiming she never existed.

Much celebrated for its soundtrack, composed by Paul Giovanni and overseen by Gary Carpenter, The Wicker Man features haunting reworkings of traditional British folk songs.

In collaboration with Northern Ireland Screen's Digital Film Archive and Foley Artist Conall McCauley, this Solstice, LUMI will be presenting a special one-off screening of Archie Reid's The Hungry Grass (1981), screening prior to The Wicker Man. Every sound effect in this Donegal-set short folk-horror will be performed live by Conall; every rustle of leaves, footstep and birdsong will be produced live using Foley sound techniques.

Screening as part of the Naughton Gallery’s SCREEN/PRINT series in collaboration with QFT and UsFolk. This specially commissioned illustrated poster for The Wicker Man was created by Berlin-based illustrator Viktoria Mladenovski.
