Commissioned by Luail - Ireland’s national, all-island dance company, this film portrays new dance works, created by four choreographers with communities across the island.
In Leitrim, street and hip-hop artist Tobi Omoteso marked Luail’s first ever public event as the national dance company. Local street dance and hip-hip artists joined together to perform a joyous live dance experience. In Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Lucia Kickham welcomed the spring Equinox along the banks of the River Slaney. This project connected both the audience and participants to this natural environment.
To mark the eve of Bealtaine, Edwina Guckian brought audiences to a secret location in the hills of Leitrim for a live dance and music experience inspired by fairy stories gathered by local people over the winter months.
Finally, Dylan Quinn shared Dance Corner in 21 locations across Ulster, dancing on deserted beaches, beside bingo halls, on street corners and of course… in the rain.
Filmmaker Nicky Larkin will take part in a Q&A after the film.
