A crew of hardy road workers, led by a bickering father and son, must survive the night when they accidentally awaken an ancient Irish vampire.
Welcome to Six Mile Hill, a sleepy Irish backwater whose only claim to fame is the somewhat dubious local legend that Bram Stoker once spent a night in the local pub. It’s home to Eugene Moffat (Jack Rowan), a young man who fills most of his days drinking pints with his friends and pranking tourists who come to visit the gravesite of Abhartach, a legendary Irish vampire some believe to have inspired Dracula.
When Eugene and his building site colleagues disturb the site believed to be the final resting place of Abhartach strange events begin to unfold. Eugene and co. soon come under attack from a sinister force and as the night closes in they must fight for survival while discovering the true horror of a myth close to home.
Directed by Chris Baugh (Bad Day for the Cut) and with a cast including Louisa Harland (Derry Girls), Fra Fee (Animals) and John Lynch (The Fall), Boys from County Hell is a fun, tense and gory thrill ride.
