Stylists at a Dublin hair salon become accidental vigilantes and community heroes when they take on the gang members and gentrifiers threatening their community in writer-director Rachel Carey's black comedy.

Piglinstown has a bit of a gang problem: The Buzzers are terrorising the community. Meanwhile, the council wants to ‘solve’ this problem by demolishing the shops - a row of retail units including the hair salon ‘Deadly Cuts’. Here, young hairdressers Stacey (Ericka Roe), Gemma (Lauren Larkin) and Chantelle (Shauna Higgins), with boss Michelle (Angeline Ball), gossip, glamorise, and serve as a friendly hub for locals. When Buzzers leader Deano (Ian Lloyd Anderson) comes to the salon making threats, a fight breaks out with the consequences leading to a madcap series of events involving the police, a butcher's shop and a hairdressing contest.

A layered, larger-than-life comedy with quick, cutting, lyrical dialogue reminiscent of the work of Roddy Doyle, Deadly Cuts is a charming film full of highlights and best enjoyed with a glass of fizz and your closest mates.
