Licorice Pizza is the story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973. Written and Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film tracks the treacherous navigation of first love.
Over the summer of ’73, the pair navigate the changing political and social landscape, with their journey leading them to multiple interactions with figures of both old and new Hollywood.
The film marks the big-screen debuts of its two lead performers, Alana Haim (from the band Haim) and Cooper Hoffman, the son of the late celebrated actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman. They star alongside a bevy of scene-stealing supporting actors including Bradley Cooper, Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Benny Safdie and Maya Rudolph.
Paul Thomas Anderson, who also serves as one of the film's producers and cinematographers, shot the film using 1970s camera processes and lenses to achieve the right look, accompanied by original music by Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead).
Back by popular demand! Oscar nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay; come see this soon to be classic for the first time or on repeat.
