Chosen by LUMI to mark European Arthouse Cinema Day 2021, Playlist is a relatable, quirky French comedy exploring what it is like to live the twentysomething life in Paris.
Sophie (Sara Forestier) is a woman in her mid-20s, struggling to get noticed as a graphic novelist and useless at relationships. When she quits waitressing she manages to land a job with a comic book publisher, but in a position she is totally unqualified for. Sophie's problems are exacerbated when she discovers she is carrying the baby of her ex-boyfriend, a pregnancy she most definitely doesn't want.
Filmed in stylish black and white by first time director Nine Antico, Playlist is a funny and instantly recognisable story of a quarter-life crisis.
Held across Europe on 14 November 2021, European Arthouse Cinema Day is a partnership between the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE) and Europa Cinemas that celebrates arthouse cinemas and the cultural diversity of European film. Visit here for more information.
