Benedict Cumberbatch stars as an unassuming British businessman recruited into one of the greatest international conflicts in history in this true-life spy thriller.
Greville Wynne (Cumberbatch) is an engineer and a family man, with a wife Sheila (Jessie Buckley) and a young son. When he is initially approached by agents from MI6 and the CIA (Angus Wright and Rachel Brosnahan), he is left both amused and bemused. However, soon, at their behest, he forms a covert, dangerous partnership with Soviet officer Oleg Penkovsky (Merab Ninidze) in an effort to provide crucial intelligence needed to prevent a nuclear confrontation and defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis.
"It is pure le Carré...Benedict Cumberbatch excels in remarkable true Cold War spy story." - Pete Hammond, Deadline
