Neil Jordan directs a loose remake of Jean-Pierre Melville's Bob le flambeur starring Nick Nolte as an American thief in Nice. Screening in lovely 35mm.

Bob (Nick Nolte) is an aging thief who has seen better days and is battling both an addiction to heroin and a growing gambling problem. But he still thinks he has one more big score in him and plots a massive heist of a Monte Carlo casino. In order to pull off the theft, he'll need an amazing team of accomplices and will have to outwit his nemesis, the local police chief (Tcheky Karyo).

Special thanks to Number 9 Films and Irish Film Institute.

"Mr. Jordan has lovingly recreated much of what glittered in the hard French thrillers that once starred Delon and Belmondo, and provided a superbly customized vehicle for the salty charms of ashtray-voiced Nick Nolte." Observer

This event is part of the Belfast International Arts Festival, taking place throughout Belfast from 16 Oct - 23 Nov 2024.
