From visionary director Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse) comes The Northman, an action-filled epic, filmed in Northern Ireland, that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father's murder.

Set at the turn of the 10th century in Iceland, Viking prince Amleth (Alexander Skarsgård) embarks on a quest for vengeance following the brutal murder of his father (Ethan Hawke) at the hands of his uncle. Taking an oath to avenge his father and save his mother (Nicole Kidman), Amleth grows up and gathers his own army to enact a gruesome reckoning.

The formidable and physically imposing Skarsgård is joined by Anya Taylor-Joy as Olga, a servant who claims to hold the strength to break men’s minds. The historical epic follows the pair as they battle to reclaim the kingdom, alongside supporting stars Claes Bang, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.

In addition to directing, Eggers co-wrote the film with the Icelandic poet and novelist Sjön, a frequent collaborator with Björk - who makes her first major film appearance since 2000’s Dancer In The Dark.
