From writer-director Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Molly’s Game) and with an all-star ensemble cast that includes Eddie Redmayne, Mark Rylance, Sacha Baron Cohen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, The Trial of the Chicago 7 is the most significant drama of the year.

Chicago, 1968. What was intended to be a peaceful protest at the Democratic National Convention turns into a violent clash with protesters on one side and the police and National Guard on the other. The organisers of the protest - including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale - are charged with conspiracy to incite a riot. What follows is one of the most notorious trials in American history.

Featuring trademark Sorkian dialogue and a series of fine performances from Hollywood’s finest actors, The Trial of the Chicago 7 is a blistering film that shows that the theme of furious anti-authority protest still resonants fifty-plus years on.
