Season Fleadh on Film

Rarely seen on cinema screens since its 1988 release, Rattle and Hum is a concert movie on an unprecedented scale, capturing U2 – on and off the stage – during their triumphant Joshua Tree tour.

From the giant Technicolor stadium celebrations to the black-and-white intensity of the indoor shows, this is U2 at the end of an era, before they decided to "dream it all up again". The film follows the group across America, exploring new influences, playing with the legendary B.B. King, on a journey which takes them from Dublin to Graceland, from San Francisco to the streets of Harlem.

This film is Pay What You Can. This scheme invites you to think about your own circumstances and what you can afford to spend at the cinema. Instead of our usual ticket types, for all Fleadh on Film screenings we have a sliding scale with tickets at £4, £7, £10 and £15. Find out more.

This Fleadh on Film screening is presented as part of the Fleadh at Queen’s programme which celebrates the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 coming to Belfast for the first time, and the rich tradition of Irish music and heritage. See the full programme of campus-wide events here.
