"Y’all wanna hear a story about why me & this bitch here fell out? It’s kind of long but full of suspense.”

Zola (Taylour Paige), a Detroit waitress, strikes up a new friendship with a customer, Stefani (Riley Keough), who seduces her into joining her on a weekend trip to Florida to make some quick-cash and party. What at first seems like a glamorous trip full of “hoeism” rapidly transforms into a 48-hour odyssey involving a nameless pimp, an idiot boyfriend, some shady guys in Tampa, and other unexpected adventures.

First told as a series of now-iconic viral, uproarious tweets, writer-director Janicza Bravo's wild, see-it-to-believe-it comedy-thriller is a free-spirited, female-centric road movie that detours into avenues both criminal and incredible. The stranger-than-fiction Zola begins as a dazzling descent into the unknown and ends as an empowering tale of female agency and take-charge determination in the face of male oppression.

"Janicza Bravo’s wild drama offers a fascinating perspective on female relationships...much like the internet phenomenon it stems from, the magic is in the delivery." - Hannah Strong, Little White Lies
