It wasn’t until she lost her faith in God that Rosaline started seeing miracles… A Sign (Un Signe, Un Geste) is an enigmatic and compelling short film by Don Duncan, which explores hope, despair and signs. Available to watch for free on QFT Player.

Rosaline (Sophia Leboutte) is in the middle of a spiritual crisis. Her longing to be saved has led her nowhere and she finds herself alone and without hope. One evening, by chance, Rosaline meets Georges (Simon André), a puppeteer. She physically reminds Georges of a woman he lost in his past. Rosaline agrees to pose for him, to help him bring the face of that woman out of the wood from which he sculpts his puppets.

During their numerous posing sessions, Rosaline finds a new, unexpected hope. But once the puppet is finished, their moment of grace comes to an end and she must return to her discontent. While her situation again appears hopeless, Rosaline experiences the sort of miracle that she has so long waited for.
