Season QFT Player

The Belfast Children's Festival is an annual international festival for children aged 0-17 and their accompanying grown ups, taking place in-person and online between 4-13 March.

QFT is joining forces with the festival once again to present a selection of gems on QFT Player:

WHEN I HEAR MUSIC (Chad Taylor) - a powerful hip-hop dance film with animation that explores the emotional rollercoaster young people experience during their first day at secondary school. Suitable for 8 yrs+. Available with audio description. Free.

GETTING DRESSED FILMS (Second Hand Dance) - this series of five short, dazzling dance films, transforms our everyday clothes into celebrations of our individuality. Created for audiences 3-7 years old. Available with audio description, BSL, and plain background (suitable for those with hypersensitivity). Free.

SEEING THROUGH DARKNESS (Restless Dance Theatre) - an evocative and uplifting dance work directed by Michelle Ryan and inspired by the works of French expressionist, Georges Rouault. Suitable for all ages. Free.

TOUCH exhibition (Young at Art/Duncan Ross) - Young at Art artist, Duncan Ross, has been working with local schoolchildren to explore the impact of social distancing on children during lockdown. Suitable for all ages. Free.

DO YOU CARE? (DU Dance NI) - this new film, shot between lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, recognises and gives voice and emotional expression to young carers, raising awareness of some of the issues they face. Suitable for 7 yrs+. Free.

MORF (Maiden Voyage Dance) - MORF explores the magical in the everyday, as two dancers find themselves embarking on a 'suit safari' creating familiar animals from their suit jackets. Suitable for 3-6 years. Tickets £5.

Free shows will be available on QFT Player from 4 March. There's no need to subscribe and no sign-up required to watch. MORF will be available to rent from 11 March here.
