This is a past event
This is the second of what will become an annual event at the Belfast Film Festival programmed by Professor Sarah Edge and Fiona McElroy from Ulster University which aims to open up dialogue between academic researchers and those working in the broadcast and creative industries.
Broadcasters recognize that television and lm productions produced for the pre-teen audience should be careful in terms of sexual stereotyping, acknowledging that we learn how to behave as boys or girls in later life in terms of what we see in the media. This event will examine if there is a similar concern once we reach programming for the teenage years.
