Belfast Film Festival is delighted to honour the screen work of Brid Brennan with their Realta award for outstanding contribution to cinema. Join Brid for this in-conversation event which spans her extensive career.

Over the past four decades, the Belfast-born actor has worked on some of the UK and Ireland's finest theatre and television productions, from playing the put-upon Lorna in Graham Reid's Belfast-set series of Billy plays in the early 1980s through to her role as Agnes in the original production of Dancing at Lughnasa - for which she won a Tony award.

She also appeared in Mike Leighs Four Days in July, Anne Devlin, the romance Trojan Eddie with Stephen Rea and Topsy-Turvy. A host of standout performances in the 2000s onward included Shadow Dancer and Brooklyn and our gala screening at this years festival Doineann.
