A self-confessed “fan girl”, director Oh explores her idolisation of Jung Joon-young and how her faith in him was destroyed when, in 2019, he was sentenced to five years in prison on multiple charges of rape. Furious and embarrassed, Oh sets out to meet other fans of the fallen star, exploring whether they can maintain their worship and why some continue to back him despite his crimes. What begins as a probe of Oh’s past and an obsession with celebrity leads to unlikely places, eventually bringing the director into contact with Korea’s far-right movement and the country’s former President.
