Season Visions of Europe

Two penpals from France and Germany navigate an in-person relationship in Claire Burger's coming-of-age drama.

Fanny, a 17-year-old schoolgirl from France, goes on a language exchange trip to Germany. In Leipzig she meets her pen pal, Lena, a teenager eager to become involved in political activism. In order to impress Lena, the rather shy and withdrawn Fanny invents a different life for herself – but she quickly becomes trapped in her deceit.

Visions of Europe returns for its 4th edition, celebrating the breadth of European cinema with a handpicked selection of new releases, previews, festival hits and classics returning to the big screen.
