Two 20-something Londoners embrace their impulsive side and embark on a day of joyous mayhem in director Raine Allen-Miller’s debut feature that is a playful rom-com for the new generation.
When Yas (Vivian Oparah) finds Dom (David Jonsson) ugly-crying in a bathroom stall at a local art exhibition, she decides to accompany him on his way to an awkward meal with his ex and her new man who just so happens to be his best friend. From there, the pair navigate London via some familiar and not-so familiar haunts, all the while inching toward the possibility of opening their hearts again.
For her visually inventive feature debut, director Raine Allen-Miller launches us into a vibrant world, channeling all the frustrations of swiping fatigue and shaping a romantic comedy that celebrates meeting the right person at the wrong time.
★★★★ "Will leave you with a smile on your face, a spring in your step and (hopefully) a renewed confidence in next-wave British film-making." Mark Kermode, Observer
