"KHAAAAANNNN!"

Universally regarded as the best feature outing of the original USS Enterprise crew, Star Trek II sees William Shatner's Admiral Kirk doing battle with old adversary, Khan (Ricardo Montalbán), who has stolen the universe-threatening Genesis device.

Montalbán chews a big, ragged hole in the universe as the vengeful intergalactic exile. But after decades of burning hatred, he’s armed with the secrets of life, some very unconventional alien weaponry, and a rabid desire to wipe out Kirk, Spock and company once and for all.

Ramped up (and slightly camped up) by director Nicholas Meyer, it's a rip-roaringly enjoyable sci-fi yarn for die-hard fans and less boldly-goers alike. Montalbán plays Khan like the greatest panto villain of all time while Shatner's Kirk is still inspirational in command, despite going through a mid-life crisis.

“It was Star Trek II that put the franchise on the right track as the spirit of Gene Roddenberry's 60s television series was harnessed to spectacular effect.” – ANGIE ERRIGO, EMPIRE MAGAZINE
