In his debut feature film, Irish writer/director Michael Kinirons explores the psychological struggle of a teenage boy dealing with unbearable guilt.
The Sparrow centres on West Cork teen Kevin (Ollie West), a melancholic boy still grieving for his late mother and finding little consolation from his tough, emotionally distant father (David O’Hara) or from his older brother (Éanna Hardwicke). When Kevin is involved in a tragic accident, he does something seemingly unforgivable; he keeps it a secret. As his world unravels and consequences mount, Kevin is pushed to confront the truth in a heart-wrenching climax that will change him forever.
"Beautifully made, with a stunning central performance from Ollie West" Lenny Abrahamson
