8,352 children in Northern Ireland have the role of providing significant care for a family member. 16 March 2021 is National Young Carers Day.

Through Our Eyes is the result of a three-year project with groups of young carers across Northern Ireland, in partnership with Barnardo’s NI. This series of five short films, shot at stunning locations, recognise and give voice and emotional expression to young carers, raising awareness of some of the issues they face.
