Simin (Leila Hatami) and Nader (Peyman Moadi) plan to emigrate to Europe with their eleven-year-old daughter, Termeh (Sarina Farhadi). But when Nader decides to stay behind to care for his Alzheimer's-suffering father, Simin files for divorce and states her intention to leave the country with her daughter. As tensions escalate, a sudden confrontation sets off a chain of events that entangles both in moral, legal, and emotional conflict.
