Directed by Aoife Kelleher (Mrs Robinson), Testimony is a profoundly moving documentary that chronicles the fight for justice by survivors of Ireland’s Magdalene Laundries and Mother and Baby Homes.

With the support of Justice for Magdalenes (JFM), these women expose decades of institutional abuse, from forced labour and family separations to state and church complicity. Their journey—from grassroots activism to delivering testimony at the UN—reveals both the resilience of survivors and the ongoing struggle for accountability.

Through unflinching honesty, Testimony demands justice, transparency, and recognition, ensuring these dark chapters in history are never forgotten.

The film won the ICCL Human Rights Film Award at the 2025 Dublin International Film Festival.

Warning: This film references sexual violence and historic institutional abuse of vulnerable women and children. Some scenes may be upsetting for viewers.
