A woman faces a daily struggle to care for her young son and her weakened father-in-law, while keeping a crushing secret in Dang Nhat Minh’s newly restored Vietnamese drama.

After a visit to the South-Eastern border to see her husband, Duyên returns home carrying an indescribable pain: her husband has been killed. Duyên chooses not to reveal her husband's death to her family, as her father-in-law is gravely ill. In an attempt to provide some comfort, she asks a friend to occasionally write letters pretending to be from her late husband, to maintain the illusion that he is still alive.

Poignant and gentle, When the Tenth Month Comes is a vivid portrayal of the American War in Vietnam.

Star Nhà Ease: Vietnamese Cinema is presented by Live Cinema UK & Tuyết Vân Huỳnh with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery & supported by Longdan LTD.
